DIY Pokemon Birthday Invitations

These DIY paper Pokemon birthday invitations are super easy and adorable. Pinkie loved them! They were a bit time-consuming, but if I’d had circular paper punches I’m sure it would have gone a lot faster.

Let’s get started!

Materials:

  • Red, white, and black construction paper
  • Printer
  • White cardstock
  • Scissors
  • Glue

I erased the personal details, but these are the adorable invitations I made using Canva! I printed them off onto the cardstock so they’d be sturdy. Nevermind the terrible penmanship! I used Textcraft to generate the Pokemon font text.

First, I used a glass to make a template with cardstock, and then I traced the template onto the white paper; one circle for each invitation I needed. I traced the circles on the red paper, but only half as many, because after they were all cut out I cut them each in half.

With two more templates, one for the black circle and one for the white circle, I cut all those pieces out too. I used an image of a Pokeball I found on Google for a reference to get the sizing right. Then, I cut strips of black.

Before trimming the black pieces, I glued everything else together.

After the glue dried, I trimmed off the excess. Then, I glued the printed pieces out onto each Pokeball.

Now, these are irregularly shaped, so I thought of a quick and cheap solution for making envelopes. I was pressed for time, but a quick Pinterest search will yield some awesome results. If you’re lazy like me or just want something simple, give this a shot. It was super fast!

And that’s it!

I wish I had remembered to take more pictures of the process. That’s life sometimes! I’m forgetful. That’s a mom for you, I guess!

Pinkie loved her Pokemon birthday party, and in the end, that’s what matters the most.
