10 Things in 2017: Week 7

I didn’t post last week because things got crazy, and then THIS post is late. Where to even begin…

1. Get fit and healthier, and make up a plan for it.
You know how some people get really stressed out and end up eating as a way to cope? Thaaaaat’s me. So I haven’t been doing the greatest.

2. Set up an emergency preparedness list and complete it.
We haven’t had any extra money lately, what with all the little repairs around the house stacking up, and a few problems as well.

3. Finish the baby blankets and the scrapbooks.
I’ve packed up most of the nonessentials around the house, and that includes a lot of my crafting things. All my thread is packed away and in storage, BUT I do have the kit for Small Fry’s blanket available to me. I think I’m going to keep it next to my computer and work on it when I’m taking breaks and sitting.

4. Plant, care for, and harvest and awesome garden. Sell the house and buy a new one.
This one has changed, officially! The garden will have to wait until next year.

We’ve been working hard to get the house ready to put on the market. Mike was working his fingers to the bone, and I ended up telling him we could wait another week, just for the sake of keeping his sanity. It was like watching the stress melt from his face.

Last night we discovered that the second house we’d found and wanted is now also pending sale, so we’re back where we started and bummed yet again. We NEED to get this house on market and sold as fast as possible or these awesome houses are going to keep slipping from our fingers.

5. Clean up my digital files.
This is going to be my project this week. It doesn’t take any craft supplies, just time and effort.

6. Clean and organize the entire house.
My house has been echoing lately, thanks to our attempts to depersonalize. Clean, though, is a whole ‘nother thing: these kids make it almost impossible. Once the house goes up on the market, though, I’m going to be going crazy momma on them, though. We’ll need to have the house within 30 minutes of clean pretty much all the time, which means I’ll never rest again.

7. Finish the first draft of my novel.
Never even finished that short story I was working on, thanks to how we’ve been kicking it into high gear around here. I’ll get to it eventually, I guess.

8. Read 10 books.
1/10. Still reading the Half-Blood Prince, and I’m about halfway through. I packed up most of the books, and upon doing so I discovered we somehow are missing the Deathly Hallows. Mike says he lent it to someone and never got it back, so I guess I’ll be cruising the thrift stores.

9. Create a poster-sized family tree, frame it, and hang it in the living room.
I haven’t done a single thing to work on this, and I probably won’t until we get moved.

10. Keep up this blog.
I still haven’t missed a Wednesday post, but I have to admit my motivation has faded thanks to all the stress around here. I’m determined to not screw up the Wednesday posts, at least.

Whew! And that’s it!

With the impending move and everything else, it’s been tough around here to keep going with anything else. Some days I just wish I could sleep for like 12 hours, just to recharge completely! But it’ll be worth it once we receive the keys to whatever amazing home we will eventually purchase.
